Our Standards

Who we are and how we score.

Independent reviews of social media growth services, run by a named two-person editorial team since 2021. We pick with our own money, track every order for thirty days, and publish the results under a scoring rubric you can inspect.

  • 30+ services tested
  • 30-day tracking window

Our mission

Most reviews are paid placements dressed up as journalism.

HowSociable exists to be the alternative: a single place where readers can see what each vendor actually delivered, how long it took, how much of it stuck, and how it compares to everything else we have tested.

How we test

Real purchases, quantifiable measurements.

Our scoring is built on real purchases and quantifiable measurements, not vendor-supplied marketing copy.

  • Real money, real orders

We have spent over $2,400 placing real orders with 30+ social media growth services. Vendors don't know we're testing them, so we receive the same product the public gets.

  • 30-day tracking window

Every order is monitored for 30 days. We log delivery start time, completion time, retention drop-off, and any refill events. Snapshots are taken at hour 0, day 1, day 7, day 14, and day 30.

  • 5 scoring categories

Account Quality (30%), Delivery Speed (20%), Retention Rate (25%), Customer Support (15%), Pricing (10%). The weighted average produces the published score from 0 to 10.

  • Re-tested quarterly

Top-ranked services are re-tested at least once per quarter. If a vendor's quality drops or pricing changes materially, the review is updated and the rank may shift.

The team

Two editors, two names, one rubric.

Maddy Osman leads hands-on testing and writes the reviews; Georgia Austin owns the scoring rubric and fact-checks every scorecard against our test logs before it goes live.

What we stand for

Editorial values.

  • Editorial independence

Affiliate relationships do not influence rankings. Vendors cannot pay for placement and cannot preview reviews before publication.

  • Reproducible results

Our methodology is documented so anyone can replicate it. Test orders, dates, and outcomes are recorded for every published review.

  • Reader-first

When a recommendation is uncomfortable for a vendor partner, we publish it anyway. Our duty is to the reader, not to the affiliate program.

  • Transparent disclosure

Every review and listing page carries a visible advertising disclosure. We earn a commission on some links at no cost to you.

Transparency

How we make money.

HowSociable earns a commission when readers click affiliate links and make a purchase. The commission comes from the vendor, not the buyer, and never affects pricing. Affiliate revenue does not buy placement on our top lists, and links are tagged rel="sponsored nofollow" for transparency.
